Jack Murray | Co-Founder
After getting backyard haircuts for most of his life, Jack realized his love and passion for barbering through cutting his own hair. From humble beginnings inside dorm room bathrooms, to groomsman parties, weddings, guest spots at luxury shops, Vans Warped Tour, and plenty more, the opportunity Jack still values most was apprenticing through a high end, distinguished barbershop.
Entrepreneur Justin Kelly - the owner of Hone & Strop Barber and Brand, one of Bethlehem’s most notable barbershops, taught Jack (with the help of those around him) everything from the ground up, even as far as how to properly hold clippers! From there, Jack gained the tools necessary in exceeding industry standards, and building a successful business.
His gratefulness to those who have helped him is evident in his work, and how he interacts with his clientele. It is rumored that he cares more about your hair than you do!
Ismael Ortiz | Co-Founder
In the mid-1990s, Ismael embarked on his journey in the field of barbering, initially as an amateur. By the 2000s he had honed his skills and transitioned into a seasoned professional, earning a growing and noteworthy reputation. Since then, Ismael has considered it both a privilege and a source of immense pleasure to ply his trade as a master barber-stylist.
Ismael approaches his work with an unwavering dedication and genuine affection, with a primary commitment to ensuring that each client departs with a smile, thoroughly content with the services provided. Over the years, Ismael has had the distinct honor of working with a distinguished clientele, many of whom have become cherished friends, ultimately forming a close-knit barbering family.

After owning and operating barbershops in his home country of Puerto Rico, Ismael worked at and helped establish multiple barbershops in the Lehigh Valley. While Jack may be younger, both share the drive to create, along with the willingness and faith to take on risk. Hone & Strop is where the two met and began working with one another, and over the years (with or without the help of Google translate) the two developed a friendship over haircuts, food, and goofy YouTube videos. But it was ultimately the sharing of common goals, and seeing each other daily strive toward aspirations that furthered their kinship. After some time the realization became clear that they both wanted something very similar, and as quickly as ideas led to actions, Kingdom Comb came into existence.
Despite the language barrier, Jack and Ismael have bonded over many things through the years. What Kingdom Comb enjoys most are the barrier breakers that transcend language. Here you will find a wide variety of good music, heavy laughter, and impeccable haircuts. Basing your roots in luxury grooming is not enough, and that is why Kingdom Comb’s major objective is to help establish and maintain what helps make you look good.
